INDEPENDENT LEARNER
I would like to see the following........

Problem solving - think outside the box

Resilience - keep experimenting with curiosity, self-motivation, critical thinking and persistence.

Apply: make informed choices and to take responsibility for your own ideas and work.

Independent Learner: You choose, consider and create.
Welcome to the "Transition Period " where you move out of Yr9 into Yr10 Independent Coursework.

This is where it start......
The emphasis this term is on developing your own ideas through research of artists/genres, taking your own photographs in response to your research, experimenting with different techniques and starting to link these together to create a series of final pieces based on Inside, Outside and Everything in Between
Project Objective:

As students you will develop the necessary orginisational skills to work towards independence.
As students you will develop the necessary motivation and confidence to thrive in an independent learning culture / environment..

As students you will learn how to intergrate their ideas with skills base experimentation in a meaningful way.
Get Thinking!!
You are asked to consider two key words to kick start your transitional project which will continue till Christmas in Yr.10.

I want you to think carefully about INSIDE or OUTSIDE, What does this mean to you?
Think of as many words that come to mind, Don't be controlled allow the imagination to run wild and present a MIN MAP in your words on a single page in your sketchbook.
IN BETWEEN:

Choose one of the six following words to add to your own word that is going to start this unit of work for you.

CONTORT DISTORT FANTASY REALITY METAMORPHIC REFLECT

Write down all subjects, themes, places, things, activities or issues that are personally relevant and that matter to you (even random, unexpected things, such as a the Photography room glass, or heirloom knives and forks in your kitchen drawer). The purpose of any artwork is to communicate a message: to comment or scream or sing about the world in which we find ourselves in. If there is no emotion behind the work, there is no driving force – nothing to direct and shape your decision making. Write down the things that you care about; that move you.
