Start exploring.........

This unit of work invites you to make a Photo Journal, Personal in your style of Photography to give you inspiration for the forth-coming year. This Photo Journal calls upon you to reflect on your photography, your motivations, and dreams. This digital journal presented as a book is a companion to help you reflect on “why” — why you take photos, why photography is meaningful to you, and why creativity is important to you. Personal Photography is a tool to discover your own inner photography purpose and to better appreciate the beauty in the mundane.

What I would like you to discover and question is the important deeper questions that draw you to photography? Why do you take photos? Do you shoot for yourself, or for others? Do you want to find more personal meaning through your photography, which has an ever last impact? I hope your personal response brings you happiness, gratitude, and sparks creativity in your life.

Requirements: Your journal must include 12 pages in a chosen personal format presented as either a look book or handmade journal.

You have four inspirational directions to take your personal photography journal, the first has been suggested for you or you may choose one of the other three, which is open to your own interpretation.

Journal 1:  About you.

Prompt suggestions or assignments such as:

a)    Something about you.

b)    Where memories are made.

c)    Take me on an adventure.

d)    Inner child.

e)    A place I call home.

f)    Tell me a story.

g)    Never alone

h)    If I could turn back time.

i)    Take me there.

j)    Freedom to be whomever I choose.

Journal 2: Life’s Curiosities.

Journal 3: Ordinary & Extraordinary – based on someone’s life.

Journal 4: Your Own Choice – Intent must be a clear from the outset.

In response you are asked to plan and generate three photoshoots or more based around your concept.

Do these three shoots connect or how could you connect them? Begin to experiment further by incorporating graphics and type.

Begin to select the best and present...

...NOW FAST FORWARD...

WHAT IS YOUR OUTCOME.. by considering this, it will help to organise and move in a direction with your images

3.

Develop your work....... and Present!!

Experiment further with Graphics, Type, Gif (for a digital effect), Illustration or college.

4.

Present..... Outcome:

Your outcome should give you the opportunity to unearth your inner creativity and connect to your own work practice. Your Photo Journal must be a tool to connect with others through your Look book design. Your final journal should engage with design and communicate with a coherent narrative.
