HIDDEN SPACE, HIDDEN VOICE
This project is designed to get your thinking and creating images that capture the idea of the HIDDEN YOU.
The hidden voice that exists within us and the hidden space we go to to escape or find sanctuary.

We all engage with our conscious and sub-conscious mind, privately we all talk to ourselves, dreams that capture our processing minds, I could go on... So I would like you think about what is your HIDDEN SPACE/PLACE and what is the HIDDEN VOICE that speaks when there?

Polar Coordinates
You are asked to find a landscape photo that you have taken
at some time on your phone, to provide you with an image
for the next task.
To create the planets follow the workshop below:
-
Take a landscape photograph or use one of your own. Open it in Photoshop.
-
Turn your image into a square. Go to Image > Image Size. Un-tick the 'constrain proportions' box. Change the height and width to match each other and create a square. (the image will look squashed!)
-
Flip your image by 180 degrees. Go to Image > Rotate canvas > 180
-
Add the polar coordinates effect. Go to Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates. (Make sure the 'rectangular to polar' button is checked)
-
You will now have your planet but should see a seam where the photo joins. Use the Clone Stamp tool to airbrush out this line - this is where the skills are learnt!
-
Click on the tool and choose an area you want to copy, click alt + click. Now click on the areas you want to copy that colour onto.
-
Repeat this until the seam is covered and not noticeable.

Post your finished planet on your blog and assess.
-
Try this using photographs of a mixture of different objects from the props shelves.
