Learning Objective:

To explore the concept of identity through group discussion and by creating a group mind map.
To Experiment with Photo booth and iPhoto
The learning aim is to understand the basic navigation and layering process. Start to construct and manipulate a photograph through layering and exploration of filters.
This project you will allow you to create a photo-joiner of yourself in a montaged landscape.
1. Experiment
Experimenting with Photo Booth
•Take a series of photos (10 – 15) of yourself on photo booth. Use the different filters to give different effects.
•Framing – make sure your head and shoulders fill the frame to give a balanced composition.
•Expression – experiment with your expressions to give your portraits different moods.
•Save these images onto your desktop by dragging them out of photo booth.

4. EXPERIMENT:
Stitch together your portrait in photoshop
Use your portrait photos from photo booth in Photoshop.
Task 1 Import all photos from U20 into iPhoto
Task 2 Open a new document in Photoshop, international paper A3 size.
Task 3 Build your face back together. Use the Navigator to zoom in and out of the image and move the layers to bring bits forwards and backwards.
Task 4 Take photographs of close up sections of your body in the studio. Import these into iPhoto
Cmd Shift and 4 frequently to record your work in progress
Read my feedback thoroughly and identify what you need to do to improve your work.

360 Degree Stitched Landscape
Learning Objective:
To create a fragmented landscape through use of the camera and Photoshop. Consider composition and scale.
Your challenge is to make your landscape individual to you. Link it to your own identity.
1. Capture & Explore:
•Import your photos from last lesson into Photoshop
•Create 3 fragmented landscapes using the different composition choices and save to the desktop and your folder (sheet provided) - Extension – can you stitch these 3 together to create a surreal landscape?
•Cut out your full body portrait carefully and paste into your landscape considering scale and composition. (see my example)
. Research the artists KEITH HUBCEK and his website PureSubculture, Present his work and annotate your thoughts and how his work was constructed.
•Edit your landscape by selecting areas and layers and using filters and adjustments. Create a landscape that is individual to you.

When you have completed your landscape place your full body portrait into the image.

Consider scale and composition.
Use and refine all the techniques you have learned so far and develop your landscape further. Duplicate layers and experiment with layer blends, hue & Satuation.... Save work and present...
